Psychological Assessment in Peoria, IL

Move Forward with Clarity

Comprehensive evaluations designed to give you meaningful answers about yourself, your mind, and how you can move forward with clarity.

What is Psychological Assessment?

It is a structured, evidenced based process that uses validated testing instruments, clinical interviews, and observation, to develop a detailed picture of how you think, process information, regulate attention, and experience the world. A full evaluation goes beneath the surface and examines strengths and challenges, ruling out competing explanations, and offering a diagnosis grounded in data.

Our assessments are conducted by a licensed psychologist and are individualized to your specific concerns. We don’t use a one-size-fits-all approach, we tailor the evaluation to what matters most to you.

Our Specialization: Adult ADHD Evaluations

ADHD is one of the most underidentified and misunderstood conditions in adults. Many adults lived for decades without answers, struggling with focus, follow-trough, time management, or emotional regulation and being told it was simply a matter of effort or discipline. It isn’t.

We specialize in adult ADHD evaluations because we know how much a clear diagnosis can change a person’s life. When you finally understand why certain tasks are harder for you, you can stop blaming yourself and start building strategies that actually work.

Our evaluations are thorough, compassionate, and designed to capture the full complexity of how ADHD presents in adults, including how it often looks different that the textbook picture, especially in women.

The Assessment Process

While every evaluation is individually tailored, a comprehensive assessment at Peace of Mind consists of the following phases:

Clinical Interview

The first stage of the evaluation is comprised of 1-2 sessions in which your evaluator will conduct a careful examination of your history, your concerns, and goals of the evaluation. At the conclusion of your interview and prior to scheduling testing, your evaluator will discuss the recommended tests and outline the timeframe for completing the testing and evaluation services.

Testing

Psychological testing will be conducted using standardized measures appropriate for the referral questions. Testing sessions may take place over one or more appointments.

Feedback Session

This is scheduled approximately two weeks after testing is complete to discuss the findings and impressions. The feedback session is the opportunity to ask questions, request clarification, and make minor corrections to any factual inaccuracies that may be identified.

Report Distribution

A written report will be finalized and sent to appropriate parties as authorized by the client. Once the report is sent, the assessment process is complete.
